Eleanor
Russell
Brown,
(Elly),
illustrated
the
first
two
books
that
she
authored
about
her
character,
A.
C.
Robat,
the
clown.
The
circus
art
that
accompanied
those
books
has
been
featured
at
an
art
gallery
in
Venice,
Florida.
The
Robat
series
along
with
several
of
her
other
children's
books
are
available
online
at
Barnes
and
Noble.
Elly
first
began
using
whimsical
drawings
during
her
primary
and
secondary
teaching
career
in
upstate
New
York
and
Florida
to
accompany
the
stories
that
she
created
to
illustrate
concepts
for
her
students.
During
those
years
in
the
Florida
school
system,
Elly's
efforts
were
focused
primarily
on
the
performing
arts
at
a
school
for
the
gifted
in
Tallahassee,
Florida.
It
was
there
that
she
developed
"THE
WHEEL
of
ARTS"
teaching
program
designed
to
integrate
the
arts
into
the
academics.

Elly
found
Dustin
Clemons
when he
went to
her house
with his
father
to shampoo
the carpets.
She was
showing
her clown
books
to his
father,
telling
him that
she had
also
written
other
books
but could
not find
an artist
to illustrate
them.
Dustin
spoke
up and
said that
he might
be able
to
help her.
It turned
out that
she had
found
an extremely
gifted
artist
for the
Mary Warin
books.
He was
awarded
a Silver
Key for
his art
during
high school.
